I am a:

Welcome

During fiscal 2009 CPS began implementing performance management (PM), a process that ensures that decisions are based on empirical evidence about what supports schools and students. PM initially launched at Central Office in March 2009. Through the PM process, departments define outcome based performance metrics, develop data collection methods and establish internal management structures that support data driven decision making. The PM process also facilitates data analysis in order to understand current performance and to establish action plans that will lead to continuous improvement. Performance Management will continue to expand in fiscal 2010, involving an increased number of Central Office departments and all CPS areas.

The spirit of continuous improvement at the heart of Performance Management is what drives our unit to engage in comprehensive program evaluations (Research and Evaluation), partnerships in research with external partners, and ongoing development of improved metrics and analytical thinking (Applied Research). All of these activities help us get closer to the data we need most to make the informed decisions that will drive improved student outcomes.

We want to welcome you to our website and hope that you find the content here useful. Please feel free to reach out to me or members of my team if there are additional ways we can be helpful to you or if you have suggestions for this site.
